תקציר העלילה: צ'רלי אשנטי, ילד לונדוני, מגלה שהוריו המדענים נחטפו. בזכות יכולתו הייחודית לדבר עם חתולים, הוא יוצא למסע חובק עולם בחיפוש אחריהם. בדרכו, הוא מצטרף לקרקס צף ופוגש אריות כלואים, אותם הוא מחליט לשחרר ולהשיבם למרוקו. המסע מלא בהרפתקאות, דמויות בלתי נשכחות וסכנות, כאשר עתיד העולם תלוי בהצלחתו.

על המחברות: זיזו קורדר הוא שם העט של לואיזה יאנג ובתה איזבל אדומקו יאנג. לואיזה היא סופרת ועיתונאית, ואיזבל החלה בכתיבה בגיל צעיר. שיתוף הפעולה ביניהן הוליד את טרילוגיית "ילד האריות".
