The book Verse Plays and Epic is Volume 8 of Goethe’s Collected Works. It contains new English translations of four verse dramas and the narrative poem Hermann and Dorothea. Among the included works are Iphigenia in Tauris, Torquato Tasso, The Natural Daughter, Pandora, and Goethe’s epic Hermann and Dorothea. This volume presents Goethe as both dramatist and epic poet, offering English-speaking readers access to his lyrical and theatrical experiments.
