Monet’s Cookery Notebooks / Claire Joyes

Claire Joyes reconstructs the meals and hospitality of Claude Monet’s household at Giverny through his recipe notebooks and family recollections. More than 150 recipes accompany an account of the kitchen, garden produce and meals shared with visiting friends, including fellow artists. Photographs of the house, gardens and dishes connect the recipes with the domestic setting in which Monet lived and worked.
