It’s a Mystery, Charlie Brown is an illustrated Peanuts mystery for children, adapted from the animated television special. When Woodstock’s carefully built nest suddenly disappears, Snoopy puts on his detective costume and begins searching the neighbourhood for clues. His investigation brings him into comic encounters with Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Peppermint Patty and the rest of the gang, while Sally struggles to find a suitable exhibit for her school science project. The story combines detective parody, courtroom comedy and the familiar humour of Charles M. Schulz, while exploring questions of ownership, fairness and the difference between finding something and having a right to keep it. Presented in colourful illustrations based on the television production, the book follows Snoopy and Woodstock as a simple missing-nest case develops into a disagreement that may require more than detective work to resolve.
